On my view of saying how people need growth mindset like Dweck talked about to form equality; some readers may challenge my view by insisting how we don’t need growth mindset and it can still happen. Yes to a certain points fixed mindset may also think alike but do fixed mindset people really be open to think that equality happens if not giving the opportunity and a chance. Just like Dweck said “So let’s talk about equality. In our country, there are groups of students who chronically underperform, for example, children in inner cities, or children on Native American reservations. And they’ve done so poorly for so long that many people think it’s inevitable. But when educators create growth mindset classrooms steeped in yet, equality happens” (06:33). Children were able to improve their skills because of giving the opportunity to learn and form the growth mindset. If not, they will stay with the poorly learned skills they have. African Americans are the same they are not given the opportunity to actually show their skills, the White people have taken the chance away from them. If we do not form the growth mindset for African Americans to learn and improve then there will be no equality with race.
I think this will strengthen my paper since it gives off a point view of readers that may object with my view but also an explanation to what I am saying and why. It is kind of like having a growth mindset where I am explaining my reason but also give reasons to readers that disagree with the author so they understand that I know there are other opinions than just one.
